Ingredients to make Whole Wheat Nutty Chocolate Banana Tea Cake

  • Bananas 3 big ones, over ripe
  • Wheat flour 2 cups
  • Baking Powder 1 tsp
  • Baking Soda 1 tsp
  • Milk 3/4 to 1 cup
  • Cocoa powder 1/2 cup
  • Powdered sugar 1 1/4 cup
  • Vanilla essence 1 tbsp
  • Oil 1 cup

How to make Whole Wheat Nutty Chocolate Banana Tea Cake

  1. Sieve all dry ingredients twice. Mash the bananas.
  2. Add oil and vanilla essence to the mashed bananas.
  3. Mix properly and add the dry ingredients.
  4. Mix properly and add milk in batches. The batter should not be too runny.
  5. Transfer into a greased and dusted baking dish.
  6. Garnish with a choice of nuts (I used a lots of crushed almonds).
  7. Preheat oven for 10 minutes at 180 degrees centigrade and then bake for 35 to 40 minutes or till the tooth pick inserted, comes out clean.

My Tip:

Whole wheat cake takes more time to bake compared to a maida cake.
