Ghiaa (Bottle Gourd) Pitha

Ingredients to make Ghiaa (Bottle Gourd) Pitha

  • rice (Soaked overnight) 1 cup
  • Ghiaa (bottle gourd) 2 cups (cut into small pieces and boiled)
  • Milk 4 cups
  • sugar 1 and 1/4 cup
  • Green cardamom 1/2 tsp
  • coconut (grated) 1 cup
  • raisins (Kaju/Kismish) 1/2 cup
  • salt- a pinch to taste

How to make Ghiaa (Bottle Gourd) Pitha

  1. Preparation Process :-
  2. Grind the overnight-soaked rice and ghiaa in a grinder.
  3. Boil the milk in a kadai.
  4. Pour the grinded paste, sugar, raisins, and coconut pieces in a kadai.
  5. Stir it continuously till it thickens and separates from the sides of the kadai.
  6. Pour the dough into a greased vessel. Bake it for 25 minutes at 200 degrees celsius.
  7. Cool it in the fridge for 1 hour. Cut it into pieces.

My Tip:

No sauce needed for this dish.
