About Tehri Recipe

A very famous dish at my in laws house.

Tehri

Ingredients to make Tehri

  • rice 3.5 cup
  • salt - 1 and 1/2 teaspoon
  • turmeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • oil as required
  • jeera powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetables as per your choices - potato, onions, bhindi, carrot, capcicum, beans and any other vegetable of your choice
  • water - 6 cups
  • ghee - 2 teaspoon

How to make Tehri

  1. Deep fry the onions and keep it separately.
  2. Now deep fry the other veggies singly one at a time by adding salt and pinch of turmeric each time.
  3. Now in a cooker layer the rice the the veggies and then ghee and repeat.
  4. Add water 1 finger up above the last layer of rice.
  5. Now put the lid on till it cooks.
  6. Remove the cooker from the flame and let it open on its on.
  7. Serve with side dish of your own choice.
