How to make Sweet Condensed Oats Orange Kheer

  1. Peel the orange. Pluck out the segments and remove the transparent thin film/skin, seeds, and the white thread. Make small pieces. Keep it aside.
  2. Add ghee into a pan and add oats. Roast it for two minutes. Add milk and bring it to a boil on medium heat. Keep stirring in between to avoid the milk to sticking to the bottom.
  3. Add sugar, condensed milk, cardamon powder, food color or crushed saffron and continue to cook till the milk thickens and reaches the consistency of a pudding. Add kewra water and saffron flavor before taking the kheer off from the heat.
  4. Allow the kheer to cool at room temperature for 15-20 minutes. Add the chopped orange segments. Mix it and refrigerate for atleast 2 hours.
  5. Do not reheat the oats orange kheer after you have added the orange segments. Once refrigerated, serve it cold garnished with chopped/sliced almonds or pistachios.
  6. You can take out the kheer 30 minutes before serving if you got sensitivity to cold. Enjoy sweet condensed oats orange kheer.
