Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 2 cups whole all purpose flour
  2. 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  3. 1 tsp salt
  4. 1 tbsp sugar
  5. 1 tsp dry yeast
  6. 1 tbsp olive oil
  7. Luke warm water as required

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1 TSP DRY YEAST, ADD 1 TBSP POWDERED SUGAR, 3/4 CUP LUKEWARM WATER
  2. MIX WELL, SET ASIDE FOR 15 MINS
  3. THE MIXTURE WILL TURN FROTHY LIKE THIS
  4. TAKE 2 CUPS FLOUR, ADD 3/4 CUP WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR, 1 TSP SALT
  5. MAKE A HOLE IN THE CENTRE, ADD THE READY YEAST MIX
  6. KNEAD INTO A SOFT DOUGH ADDING SUFFICIENT WATER, LITTLE AT A TIME
  7. TRANSFER THE DOUGH ON A FLOUR DUSTED SURFACE, STRETCH & KNEAD FOR 5-7 MINS LIKE THIS
  8. THE SHOULD BE SOFT, PLACE IN AN OIL GREASED BOWL, WRAP IN CLING FILM, SET ASIDE FOR 2 HOURS
  9. PLACE ON A FLOUR DUSTED SURFACE, PAT INTO A 1 INCH THICK ROLL, CUT INTO SMALL PIECES
  10. SHAPE INTO SMALL, ROUND & SMOOTH BALLS
  11. LIGHTLY COVER THE BALLS WITH A WET MUSLIN CLOTH
  12. ROLL OUT THE BALLS INTO FLAT, 1/4 INCH THICK CIRCLES
  13. ALLOW THEM TO REST FOR 10 MINS
  14. GRILL ON A HOT NONSTICK TAVA ON MEDIUM HEAT
  15. FLIP & COOK FROM BOTH SIDES
  16. COOK TILL IT PUFFS UP LIKE THIS
  17. LOOK AT HOW SOFT THE PITA BREAD AS TURNED OUT
  18. CUT THE BREAD INTO HALVES, FILL WITH STUFFING OF CHOICE
