Potato Balls with Sweet and Sour Coconut Filling

Ingredients to make Potato Balls with Sweet and Sour Coconut Filling

  • Mashed potatoes 1 cup
  • Arrowroot flour 2-3 tbsp + extra for dusting
  • Freshly Grated Coconut 1 Cup
  • Toasted seasme seeds 1 tbsp
  • Rasins 2 tbsp
  • sugar 1 tbsp
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped green chillies 1 tsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves 2 tbsp

How to make Potato Balls with Sweet and Sour Coconut Filling

  1. Boil, peal and mash potatoes. Add salt to taste and arrowroot flour and make a dough and keep aside to cool
  2. Grate fresh coconut and add lemon, sugar, toasted sesame, rasins, chopped green chillies, coriander and salt to taste. Mix well and adjust seasoning.
  3. Now make balls of the potato mixture and flatten it out on your palm. Add the coconut filling in the centre and bring up the sides to make a ball.
  4. Roll the ball between your palms until crease disappear. Dust the balls in arrowroot flour and deep-fry in hot oil. Keep the flame on high as we only need colour on the balls. Every thing else is already cooked or can be eaten raw.
