Ingredients to make Besan Ke Khette

  • 2 cups besan
  • Salt to taste
  • 3-4 tsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp lalmirch powder
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • For gravy
  • 2 onions
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 4 tsp tomato puree
  • 1-2 green chilli
  • 1/2 tsp jeera
  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp lalmirch powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1tsp kasoori methi powder
  • Salt to taste
  • FOR GARNISH
  • Chopped Coriander

How to make Besan Ke Khette

  1. Take water in a karahi and boil it.
  2. Take besan add salt lalmirch powder, chopped onions and oil. Knead a soft dough using water
  3. Greese your palms with oil and take dough and make a long roll.
  4. Boil it in above karahi till cooked.
  5. Take out the khatte and cut into pieces. Use this water for gravy.
  6. For gravy make a puree of onions, tomatoes and green chilli
  7. In another karahi add oil and jeera let it crackle. Now add above puree.saute till cooked.
  8. Add all the spices and little water and cook for few minutes.
  9. Now add chopped khatte and cook for few more minutes.
  10. Add the water in which you have boiled khatte and extra water as required. Cook this to get thick gravy.
  11. Garnish with chopped coriander.

My Tip:

Knead a soft dough to make soft khatte
