Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Vermicelli 1 pack 150 gm
  2. Recotta cheese 1/2 cup
  3. Orange food color 1/2 tsp
  4. Sugar 1/2 cup
  5. Water 1/4 cup
  6. Butter 2-3 tbs
  7. Saffron 7-8
  8. Cardamom 2
  9. Chopped pistachios for garnish
  10. Slivered almonds 2 tbs

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1/2 CUP SUGAR, ADD 1/4 CUP WATER, KEEP TO HEAT
  2. MAKE A ONE STRING SUGAR SYRUP
  3. ADD 7-8 SAFFRON STRANDS, 2 GREEN CARDAMOMS, TAKE OFF HEAT & SET ASIDE
  4. COARSELY CRUSH 1 PACK OF THIN VERMICELLI
  5. ADD 3 TBSP BUTTER, MIX WELL
  6. DIVIDE INTO TWO EQUAL PARTS
  7. MIX 1/4 TSP ORANGE FOOD COLOUR INTO ONE PART OF THE VERMICELLI
  8. MAKE A LAYER OF THE COLOURED VERMICELLI IN A BAKING TIN, SPREAD EVENLY
  9. SPREAD 1/2 CUP RICOTTA CHEESE / MAWA
  10. SPREAD SOME ALMOND SLIVERS ON TOP
  11. LAYER THE REST OF THE VERMICELLI
  12. BAKE AT 180 DEGREES FOR 15-20 MINS
  13. ALLOW TO COOL A LITTLE, LOOSEN THE EDGES & DEMOULD IT
  14. SPREAD THE WARM SUGAR SYRUP ON TOP
  15. GARNISH WITH SOME CHOPPED PISTACHIOS
  16. THE KUNAFA IS READY, DO TRY THIS AMAZING DESSERT AT HOME
