Folded Cake

Ingredients to make Folded Cake

  • 200 grams all purpose flour(maida)
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 tin(200 grams) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup milk
  • 60 grams caster sugar
  • 75 grams butter + for greasing (salted)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup melted milk/dark chocolate
  • 1 cup whipped cream frosting

How to make Folded Cake

  1. Grease an oven safe flat dish/tray. Dust it with some flour. Preheat your oven to 170C.
  2. In a bowl, combine together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add condensed milk and vanilla essence. Mix well.
  4. Add 1/2 of the dry ingredients and 1/2 cup milk and fold in the batter very well. Repeat this process until you are over with the ingredients.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared tray and bake for around 15 minutes and if it is not done, bake for 3-4 minutes more.
  6. Once it is done, remove it from the tray using a kitchen towel roll it like a carpet. Leave it like that until it is all cooled.
  7. After it has cooled down unroll it and spread melted chocolate all over it on one side. Put huge amount of whipped cream frosting in the middle of the cake and fold the cake from one side to seal it.
  8. Spread some melted chocolate on top too. Sprinkle some rice sprinkles if you want. Your folded cake is ready!
