Inspired by my health conscious thoughts. During my visit to Rajasthan, I thought to make the tasty food healthier, a wonderful combination of the flavours.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For bati :
  2. Atta (wheat Flour) - 1 Cup
  3. Oil - 2 Table spoon
  4. Baking powder - a pinch
  5. For stuffing :
  6. Green peas - 1 cup
  7. Boiled Potato - 1 Cup
  8. Chopped Green Chillies - 2
  9. Chopped Ginger
  10. Red chili powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  11. Jeera - 1/2 teaspoon
  12. Turmeric Powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  13. Coriander Powder - 1 tablespoon
  14. Garam Masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  15. Dry Mango (Amchur) Powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  16. Asafoetida (Heeng) - a pinch
  17. Salt - to taste

Instructions

  1. For Filling: Add oil to a pan, put Heeng and jeera, let it crackle.
  2. Once done, add green peas, chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala and amchur powder to it.
  3. Mash the potatoes, and add to the mix with salt as per taste. Cover the pan and let it cook for 2 minutes. Keep it aside to cool.
  4. For Bati : Put all the ingredients of bati in a bowl, add water in small quantities.
  5. Make a soft dough.
  6. Divide the dough in 8 parts and make small balls of the dough.
  7. Press each bowl in between your palms and keep 1 spoon filling in the center and remake the ball.
  8. Press the filled batties to give them a little flat ends.
  9. Put the batties in a baking dish , grease the batti with oil and keep it in a Preheated oven at 200 degree for 10 minutes.
  10. Take the batties out of oven, and serve it with Green chutney and Tamarind Chutney.
