About Spinach and Cheese Frittata Recipe

A healthy breakfast or brunch dish with the goodness of spinach and yummyness of cheese

Spinach and Cheese Frittata

Ingredients to make Spinach and Cheese Frittata

  • 2 whole eggs + 4 egg whites
  • 2 tbsps - Grated cheese (I used Gouda)
  • 2 tbsps - Milk
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • 3-4 tbsps - Chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup - Roughly chopped spinach
  • 1/2-1 tsp - Red chili flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

How to make Spinach and Cheese Frittata

  1. Preheat the oven to 220C and place two ramekins in the oven to warm.
  2. Meanwhile, beat together the eggs, milk and 1 tbsp cheese, salt and pepper till they form a frothy mixture.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add the chopped onions.
  4. Sauté for a minute and add the spinach. Cook till the leaves wilt (about 2 minutes), add a pinch of salt and pepper and slowly add to the egg mixture.
  5. Take the ramekins from the oven, brush/spray with oil and distribute the egg mixture into both the dishes and top with remaining cheese.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes. Bon Appétit.

My Tip:

Place the ramekins in a baking dish to catch any spills.
