Ingredients to make Chalkumro (Ashgourd/White gourd)

  • Finely chopped Chalkumro (Whitegourd/Ash gourd) - 1 kg
  • Kalaunji (Onion seed) - 1/4 tspn
  • Refined oil
  • Grated coconut - 1 cup
  • Salt
  • Sugar - 4 tspn
  • Dry Red Chilli - 2
  • Slit green chilli - 3
  • Water - 1/2 cup

How to make Chalkumro (Ashgourd/White gourd)

  1. Pressure cook with one whistle the finely chopped chalkumro in 1/2 cup water
  2. Drain the water. In a pan add refined oil and then add kalaunji, dry red chilli and the chalkumro.
  3. Now add salt and mix properly till the water that comes out dries completly.
  4. Post that add sugar, grated coconut and ad the green chilli. Mix properly for 2-3 minutes and remove from flame.
  5. Garnish it with grated coconut.
