Pazham Pori is a popular snacks in Kerala.Ripe plaintain slices dipped in maida batter and then deep fried in hot oil.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. All purpose flour / Maida -3/4 cup
  2. Rice flour - 1/4 Cup
  3. Water -as required
  4. Salt -To taste
  5. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Sugar -1/2 tsp
  7. Baking Soda - 2 pinches
  8. Oil -For deep fry
  9. Ripe Plaintain - 1

Instructions

  1. *Peel the Skin of plaintain and then cut into thin slices.In a bowl add the maida,rice flour,salt ,turmeric powder,sugar and baking soda.Mix well.
  2. Add the required water to make the batter.The batter should not be thick nor too thin.Meanwhile heat the oil in a kadai.
  3. Dip the banana slices in the batter and then deep fry in hot oil until it turns golden colour.
  4. Keep the fried bananas in kitchen paper to remove the excess oil.
  5. Serve hot with a cup of masala chai !!
