ABOUT Turkish Lamb Kofte RECIPE

This dish is a tasty and simple middle-eastern meatball. These meatballs are made with lean ground beef, infused with freshly chopped parsley and other aromatic spices. They are succulent and full of flavour. And a sure hit with your little ones. Do try.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 500 grams Minced lamb/beef
  2. 1 Medium onion, grated
  3. 2 cloves Garlic crushed
  4. 1 pinch of Allspice (I always add a generous sprinkling, so adjust quantity as per your taste)
  5. 1 pinch of Freshly ground black pepper (Adjust as per spice tolerance)
  6. 1 pinch of Chilli flakes (Adjust as per spice tolerance)
  7. 1 pinch of Sweet/ regular paprika
  8. 1 pinch of Ground cumin
  9. 1 teaspoon Salt
  10. 1 egg
  11. Freshly chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients together with your hands, kneading until smooth.
  2. Wet your hands and roll walnut-sized pieces of mixture into balls. Flatten them slightly.
  3. Fry the kofte on a lightly oiled chargrill pan, for a few minutes on each side till cooked through.
  4. You can also cook these meatballs in the oven at 180 degree Celsius till they are cooked through and browned.
