Ingredients to make Spicy Jak

  • Jack fruit - 1/2 kg
  • Tomato paste - 6 table spoon
  • Onion Paste - 6 tablespoon
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 3 Teaspoon
  • Green chillies fine chopped - 2
  • Coriander Powder - 4 Teaspoon
  • Turmuric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil - 6 tablespoon
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste

How to make Spicy Jak

  1. Boil the jackfruit in a cooker for 10 minutes.
  2. Once the jackfruit is boiled, take it out in a colander, and let it cool for 15 minutes.
  3. Heat the pan with oil, and start frying the jackfruit. once the edges turn brown take the fried jackfruit on a blotting paper in a plate.
  4. In the same pan, add ginger garlic paste, and onion paste and let it turn golden brown.
  5. Add the spices also with salt, after 5 minutes add tomato paste to the mix.
  6. Let the gravy turn dark er, and let it leave the oil from the edges of the pan. This indicates your gravy is ready.
  7. Take the fried jackfruit and add to the gravy.
  8. Mix it well, and keep cooking on low flame for 10 minutes.
  9. Once done, cover the pan for two minutes. Add chopped coriander leaves.

My Tip:

Try avoiding use of water in the recipe, it takes away the texture of the gravy.
