Macher Kochuri

Ingredients to make Macher Kochuri

  • Maida (all purpose flour) - 250 gm
  • Fish - 6 to 7 pieces
  • ginger-Garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • onion paste - 1 tsp
  • salt
  • red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Pinch of turmeric powder
  • sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Refined oil
  • water

How to make Macher Kochuri

  1. For Stuffing
  2. Boil the fish by adding salt and turmeric powder in it. Remove the fish bones and mash it properly
  3. In a pan add oil and then add ginger garlic paste, onion paste, salt, red chilli powder, cumin powder and fry it properly
  4. Now add the mashed fish and saute a little. Now add sugar and saute again till the fish mash appears to be separated from each other. Remove from pan and let it cool. Post cooling make small balls.
  5. Dough
  6. Prepare a dough by mixing salt, oil (2 tbsp) in the Maida.
  7. Prepare small balls from the dough
  8. For Final preparation
  9. In the dough ball spread a little and add the fish balls and cover it again. Now roll it to make poori.
  10. In a pan heat oil for deep frying. Add the poori and fry it
  11. Serve hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
