ABOUT Swedish meatballs with spaghetti RECIPE

This European dish comes from Sweden.This is completely different from usual meatball recipe with very limited spices, yet full of flavours.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 250 gms minced mutton or beef
  2. 1 packet spaghetti
  3. Enough water to boil spaghetti
  4. Salt to taste
  5. 1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  6. 1 egg
  7. 1-2 tbsps milk
  8. 1tsp pepper powder
  9. 1 pinch nutmeg powder
  10. For Sauce-
  11. 2 -3 tbsp butter or Olive oil
  12. 1tbsp all purpose flour
  13. 1tsp pepper powder
  14. Salt to taste
  15. 1 cup mutton stock
  16. 1/2 cup Cream

Instructions

  1. Boil water adding salt and later spaghetti.
  2. When it is done, strain and keep aside.
  3. Take a bowl with breadcrumbs n add milk to it.Let it rest for few min.
  4. In a different bowl take an egg add salt, pepper powder, nutmeg powder and mix everything.
  5. Then add minced mutton or beef and breadcrumbs.
  6. Mix well and make balls out of it.
  7. Preparation of Sauce-
  8. Heat olive oil or butter in a pan n add all purpose flour to it stirring continuously . Allow it to cook until it is very light brown.
  9. Add stock, pepper powder and salt.Stir the whole thing and add cream.
  10. Let it cook until it thickens a little.
  11. Now arrange meatballs in a baking tray greased with oil and pour the sauce over meatballs.
  12. Place the tray in an oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15-20 min or until they are browned.
  13. Take a plate, place spaghetti n top of it place meatballs with sauce and Swedish meatballs is ready to be served.
