Ingredients to make Mutton masala

  • Half kg mutton
  • 5 medium onions
  • 1 tomato
  • Ginger 1 inch
  • Garlic 8 cloves
  • 1 black cardamom; 2 green cardamoms; 2 bay leaves;2 inch cinnamon stick; 3 cloves; 1 tbspn jeera
  • Dry spices-1 teaspn of turmeric, redchilli and garam masala pd
  • 2 teaspn dhaniya pd
  • 2 tbspn curd
  • Salt
  • Mustard oil
  • Water

How to make Mutton masala

  1. cClean the mutton and marinate with curd, keep aside.
  2. Dry roast all the sabut garam masala..cool and grind them without adding water.
  3. In a pan add mustard oil..add 2 chopped onions ginger n garlic.as the onions turn pink add the chopped tomatoes..cook till the tomatoes are soft, take out in a plate and cool it.
  4. Take another deep kadahi..add mustard oil..heat.then add the remaining 3 chopped onions. cook till pink and add the mutton. mix it and cover with lid, lower the flame.
  5. Now add the cooked onion tomato mixture in the same jar with the grounded garam masala and grind again.
  6. Take a small bowl add the dry spices.make a paste with water.add this mixture to the jar of the masala paste and run the mixer to make a fine paste.
  7. Check the mutton..if turned a little white in colour add the masala paste and cook for 10 minutes uncovered. then add water accordingly.
  8. Let the water boil..lower the flame.cover it and cook for 45 minutes or till the mutton are well cooked..

My Tip:

Check the mutton by cutting with a spoon, if cuts easily its cooked...if not cook for another 15 minutes..
