ABOUT Whole Wheatflour Bread RECIPE

It is always dicey whether the market bought Wholewheat Bread is actually made of wheatflour or all purpose flour is also mixed. So, here is a pure wholewheat flour bread made at home.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Whole Wheatflour 1 cup
  2. Milk 1/2 cup + (more as required)
  3. Sugar 1/2 tsp
  4. Salt 1/2 tsp
  5. Yeast 1/2 tsp
  6. oil 2 tbsp
  7. 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Take 1/2 cup lukewarm milk.
  2. Mix sugar and yeast in it.
  3. Cover and keep it for 10-15 minutes without disturbing it.
  4. This will help the yeast to become frothy.
  5. This is called blooming of yeast.
  6. Mix salt in the flour and add the frothy yeast milk.
  7. Add 1 tbsp oil to this.
  8. Knead the dough.
  9. Add a few more drops of milk if required.
  10. Add 1 tbsp of oil and keep kneading the dough for at least 15 minutes.
  11. Grease a big bowl with oil and place the dough in it.
  12. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth or cling foil.
  13. In 2 hours, the dough will double in size.
  14. This is called Proofing of the dough.
  15. After 2 hours, punch the air out of the dough and knead for another 3-5 minutes.
  16. Make a log with the dough.
  17. Grease a rectangular bread baking pan.
  18. Place the log shaped dough in the greased pan.
  19. Cover the pan with a damp cloth or cling foil and let the dough rise for another 1 hour.
  20. This is called second proofing.
  21. Preheat the oven or the convection mode of the microwave at 200 degrees.
  22. Beat an egg and brush the dough with beaten egg.
  23. Bake the bread for 30 minutes or till the top surface of the bread becomes golden brown.
  24. Let the bread cool down completely on a wire rack before slicing.
