ABOUT Polish Pot Cheese Cookies RECIPE

Polish cookies are one of the most famous cookies in Europe.Here I'm sharing a very easy and full of taste cookies recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup all purpose flour
  2. 1 Egg yolk
  3. 150 grms pot cheese
  4. 1/2 tsp baking powder
  5. 1/2 cup butter frozen
  6. 1/2 tsp vanilla
  7. 1 whole egg
  8. Jam of your choice
  9. Icing sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a food processor (kneading one)take all purpose flour, baking powder and mix it well.
  2. Now add butter,cut into pieces and pulse it until it resembles a crumbly texture.
  3. Now add cheese, vanilla, egg yolk and knead it well.
  4. Keep the dough in the refrigerator for about 1-1 1/2 hrs.
  5. Take the dough out of the fridge and roll it.It should be little thick, around 3mm.
  6. Now cut with a heart shaped cookie cutter.
  7. Half the hearts should have small hole in them so that you can fill the jam.
  8. Now take 1 whole heart and place a heart with a hole over it.
  9. Fill the hole with jam.
  10. Press it firmly so that it does open while baking.
  11. Repeat these steps until all the hearts are used.
  12. Now place the cookies in a tray and give all the cookies an egg wash.
  13. Keep it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 15-20 min or until they are brown.
  14. Take them out and dust them with icing sugar.. your polish cookies are done!
