ABOUT Aloo Chana Chaat RECIPE

Aloo chana chaat is the simplest and the tastiest of the chaat recipes. This is so comforting and filling too. Can be done in a jiffy with just a few ingredients from the pantry.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 2 cups : Garbanzo beans / Kabuli chana
  2. 4 medium sized : Potatoes , boiled , peeled and cubed
  3. 1 nos : Onion finely chopped
  4. 3 to 4 tbsp : Tamarind chutney
  5. Few sprigs cilantro / coriander chopped
  6. 1 nos. : Green chilli finely chopped
  7. 1 tsp : Red chilli powder
  8. 1 tbsp : chaat masala
  9. 1/4 tsp : Black salt
  10. 1 tsp : Roasted Cumin powder
  11. 1/4 cup : Pomergranate seeds

Instructions

  1. Soak the garbanzo beans overnight or for 6 hrs until doubled and boil them until soft but not mushy.
  2. Boil the potatoes until soft but not mushy. Then peel and cube them into bite sized pieces.
  3. In a deep bowl add the boiled garbanzo, potato cubes and all the other ingredients mentioned and give it a gentle stir until well incorporated.
  4. Sprinkle some chopped cilantro and pomegranate seeds and serve, preferably chilled.
  5. Perfect and simple yet satisfying Aloo chana chaat is ready to dive in.
