Spicy Chickpea Patties

Ingredients to make Spicy Chickpea Patties

  • Dried Chickpeas - 1 cup
  • Onion – 1 Big Sized
  • Green Chillies - 4 to 5
  • Finely Chopped Fresh Coriander – ½ cup
  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp.
  • Besan (Gram Flour) – 3 tbsp
  • Dhania (Corriander) Powder – 1 spoon
  • Jeera (Cumin) Powder – ½ spoon
  • Pepper Powder – ½ spoon
  • Amchur (Dry Mango) Powder – ½ spoon (Optional)
  • Salt: as per taste
  • Oil - For Shallow frying

How to make Spicy Chickpea Patties

  1. Wash the Dried Chickpeas and soak them in wide vessel overnight.
  2. Next day, drain out the water and grind it a mild coarse paste. Remember that the paste should not be too smooth or too coarse
  3. Take this paste in a mixing bowl and then add finely chopped onions, sliced green chillies, chopped coriander, ginger garlic paste, Gram Flour, spice powders and salt and mix well.
  4. Leave this mixture aside for 10 mins
  5. Place a pan on the stove and drizzle some oil on it when it heats up
  6. Take a portion of prepared mixture and gently press on your palms to give the shape of a patty.
  7. Once the tawa is hot place the patties on it and fry it until it turn
  8. Turn the patties on the other side and repeat
  9. Delicious Spicy Chickpea Patties are ready
  10. Serve them with any chutney and salad of your choice
