Kashmiri Dum Aloo

Ingredients to make Kashmiri Dum Aloo

  • 500gms baby potato (or big potato cut into 2 pieces)
  • 150 gm curd
  • 2 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp kashmiri red chilli paste
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp cashew nut paste
  • 2 tbsp ground coconut
  • Pinch of turmeric powder
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1 tbsp chopped ginger

How to make Kashmiri Dum Aloo

  1. Make a batter with curd, cumin powder, coriander powder, chilli powder, chilli paste and salt.
  2. Heat oil on a pan. Add bay leaf and then green chilli and ginger. Saute for 2 minutes.
  3. Then add potatoes, turmeric and fry them for 5-6 minutes. Now add the prepared batter mixture. Cook for 4 minutes.
  4. Add cashew nut and coconut. Cook for 5 minutes. When oil comes out, it is cooked. You can add a little water or not. (Optional)
  5. Serve hot with fulko, parantha or kachori.
