ABOUT Cabbage Manchurian Recipe RECIPE

I made Cabbage Manchurian with gravy to accompany this colorful rice. You can also add carrot in them , i didn't any carrot so skipped it. Spring onion and the ginger garlic flavor is very important to get the Chinese flavors in the dish so avoid skipping them.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Cabbage 1/2 of one big ( shredded)
  2. Spring onions - 2 tbsp
  3. Garlic - 2 cloves ( chopped)
  4. Ginger - 1 ' inch piece ( chopped)
  5. Green chillies - 2-3 no ( chopped)
  6. Maida - 3 tbsp
  7. Corn starch/ Corn flour - 2 tbsp
  8. Oil for frying
  9. Salt to taste
  10. For Gravy
  11. Garlic - 2 cloves ( minced)
  12. Ginger - 1 tsp ( minced)
  13. Spring onions - 3 tbsp
  14. Onions - 3 tbsp ( chopped)
  15. Green chillies - 2 -3 nos
  16. Tomato ketchup- 5 tbsp ( add more to attain the red colour if you like)
  17. Chilli sauce - 2 tsp
  18. Soya sauce - 1 tsp
  19. Corn flour - 2 tsp
  20. Oil - 2 tsp

Instructions

  1. For manchurian Balls:
  2. In a bowl mix cabbage, maida, corn flour, green chillies, garlic, ginger, spring onions and salt to taste .
  3. Mix them well and divide them to equal balls.
  4. In kadai heat oil, once the oil is hot enough at each balls and fry them in low flame till turns golden brown from all sides.
  5. Once they are golden brown remove them from oil and drain them on a kitchen towel.
  6. For gravy:
  7. In a sauce heat oil, add garlic, ginger and green chillies.
  8. Saute them well, add onion and saute them till translucent.
  9. Add tomato ketchup, chilli sauce, soya sauce. Mix them well. Add enough water to make a gravy.
  10. In a separate bowl add corn flour and dilute them with little water.
  11. Once the gravy starts boiling and the corn flour mixture and cook them till the gravy thickens.
