Puffed rice pakoda

Ingredients to make Puffed rice pakoda

  • Puffed rice – 200 gm
  • Onion – 2-3 no’s chopped finely
  • Dill leaves – 1 cup chopped
  • Coriander – 1 cup chopped
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring chopped
  • Rice flour – 1/2 cup
  • Gram flour – 1/2 cup
  • Cashew nuts – 2 -3 tbs broken into small pieces
  • Chilly powder – 1 tsp (adjust to your taste)
  • Cumin or carom seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee – 1 tbs
  • Salt to taste
  • Nuterla Oil to deep fry

How to make Puffed rice pakoda

  1. 1.Rinse puffed rice in water, drain the water in it, add it to a bowl.
  2. 2.Add finely chopped onions, dill leaves, coriander leaves (rinsed and drained) cashew nuts, toss it well.
  3. 3.Add rice flour, gram flour, chilly powder, cumin and salt, toss it again without adding water to it.
  4. 4.Finally add ghee and mix together with the mixture. Sprinkle little water to knead the mixture.
  5. 5.Heat oil to deep fry, when the oil is hot
  6. 6.Take a small ball of mixture and drop it one by one into the oil
  7. 7.Fry until it turns golden brown and crisp.
  8. 8.Stain them on a blotting paper to absorb the excess oil.
  9. 9.Serve hot and Enjoy crispy and yummy puffed rice pakoda’s with tomato sauce or pudhina chutney.

Adding fresh greens give a good flavour to the dish.
