Double decker Beetroot Rawa Dhokla

Ingredients to make Double decker Beetroot Rawa Dhokla

  • Rawa-1cup
  • curd-1cup
  • Beetroot-1/2cup (parboiled and grated )
  • ginger-chilli paste as per taste
  • salt to taste
  • Fruit salt-1tbsp
  • oil 1tbsp + 1tsp to grease the plate
  • for tadka:- oil-1tbsp
  • mustard seed -1/4 tsp
  • hing pinch
  • chilli and curry leaves as per taste
  • onion finely choped -2tbsp
  • coriander leaves to garnish

How to make Double decker Beetroot Rawa Dhokla

  1. In a bowl mix rawa curd salt ginger-chilli paste oil and mix well. In a pan heat oil add mustard seed hing when it splutter add chillies n curry leaves add onion saute and pour it to the above batter mix well and divide in two parts, to one add beetroot and mix it .
  2. Heat the steamer when water in it heats up grease the dhokla plate add 1/2tbsp of fruit salt to both batters (with and without beetroot ).mix them firstpour the white batter and steam it for 5mins then pour the beetroot batter above it and steam for another 5-8mins or till dhoklas are done remove from steamer and let them cool for few mins. garnish with coriander leaves and serve with chutney or ketchup . ***u may add palak or other veg to white batter n make plain dhoklas more healthy and tasty.

My Tip:

*You can use palak or carrot instead beetroot *let the batter stand for 10-15 mins for a better texture .
