Oats Appe

Ingredients to make Oats Appe

  • Roasted & Ground Oats : 1 Cup
  • sooji / Rava : 1 Cup
  • onion : 1 Finely chopped
  • Veggies like finely chopped capsicum, grated carrot, grated cabbage
  • green chilly : 2 small finely chopped
  • Grated ginger : 1 tsp
  • yoghurt / Curd : 3/4 Cup
  • water : As needed to adjust the Batter Consistency
  • coriander / Dhania : 3 tbsp
  • curry leaves / kadipatta [Optional] : 6-7 leaves
  • Eno : 1/4 tsp
  • salt as per taste
  • oil : 2 tbsp

How to make Oats Appe

  1. In a large mixing bowl add ground roasted oats & sooji. Add curd, mix well then add water to make batter like idli batter. Keep aside for 45 minutes.
  2. After 45 minutes add the veggies. Mix well. Lastly add Eno and mix gently. Always remember to add Eno at last & mix very gently after adding Eno.
  3. Heat Appe Pan. Add a drop of Oil in every cavity. After 30 seconds add 1 tbsp of batter in every cavity. Cover with Lid & cook for 2 minutes.
  4. After 2 minutes Flip Side. Cover with lid & cook again for 2 minutes.
  5. Flip 2-3 times till Appe are evenly brown & crisp.
  6. Serve Hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
