Ingredients to make Ham and cheese calzone

  • 41/2 cups flour
  • 2 spoons yeast
  • 11/2 cups warm water for proofing the yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • For the stuffing
  • 5 Jalapenos finely chopped
  • 6 black olives finely chopped
  • 1 cup grated mozerella cheese
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 8 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • Salt, Oregano and chilli flakes as per taste

How to make Ham and cheese calzone

  1. Add yeast and sugar to warm water and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix salt in flour, knead it with the yeast water till it comes together in a ball. Pour two tablespoons of olive oil into a bowl, put the dough int the bowl and roll it around so that the oil coats all the surface.
  3. Cover bowl with damp towel or cling film and let it rest for one hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 210 degree C.
  5. Divide dough into 12 balls.
  6. Roll out each ball into small circles. Fill one half of the circle with stuffing. Fold the other half over and press down the edges with a fork
  7. Bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with mustard and pizza sauce.

My Tip:

I always make extras so that we can take it the next day for lunch.
