Ingredients to make Kathal ke kabab or raw jackfruit kabab

  • Kathal(diced) 2 cup
  • chana dal 1 cup
  • onion 2
  • ginger 1 inch pc.
  • garlic 5-6
  • cloves
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • cloves 4
  • cardamom black 2
  • green chillies- 2
  • peppercorn1/4 tsp
  • nutmeg a small pinch
  • mace a small pinch
  • red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • green chillies 6-7
  • and salt

How to make Kathal ke kabab or raw jackfruit kabab

  1. Take cut raw jackfruit into pressure cooker and add chana dal.now grind ginger,garlic,green chilli,cumin seeds,cloves cardamom,nutmeg,mace,peppercorn and onion, then add grind paste into cooker and add red chilli powder,salt and 1 cup water.
  2. Cook for 10 mins.now grind it into smooth paste.heat oil add chopped onion,green chillies & fry till onionstill light brown.add this onion and coriander leaves into grind paste, make tikkis and fry till golden brown.

My Tip:

Heat a piece of charcoal into red hot, place this in a small katori, put a tsp of clarified butter or ghee and place this over the paste,as smoke comes out cover immediately and keep for sometime, then make the tikkis and fry,this is optional.
