ABOUT Sanan RECIPE

Its a speciality of konkan people passing down from generation to generation .Its taste is a little sweet, it can be eaten alone or with chicken gravy or mutton keema.Its really yumm.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Rice rawa -1kg
  2. Sugar -1/2 kg
  3. Coconut-2
  4. Milk-1litre
  5. Malai or cream-1 bowl /250 gm
  6. Salt-1 tsp
  7. Dryfruits for garnish
  8. Saffron soaked in milk for garnishing
  9. Cardamom pd /elaichi pd 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Cut coconut into flakes and put in juicer to take out coconut milk, you can also use coconut milk powder 250 gm.Add sufficient amount of water to extract milk.
  2. Take 1/4 rawa and add half coconut milk, add salt and bring to boil for 5 min while continuously stirring to avoid lumps it would be of kheer like consistency.
  3. Take remaining rawa add sugar, elaichi /cardamom powder,milk and the kheer which has cooled down, add remaining coconut milk add everything thoroughly and keep for 2 hrs for soaking.
  4. After 2 hrs take steamer or idli maker or dhokla maker, add the batter in a plate by applying ghee and steam it for 15 min as I have added the photo for ur convenience.
  5. You have to just steam it like idli.
  6. After steaming let it cool and remove from plate.
  7. Enjoy it as it is or with chicken, mutton on gravy or mutton keema.
