Chingri Maacher Bati Chorchori

Ingredients to make Chingri Maacher Bati Chorchori

  • 200 gms deshelled medium size prawns
  • 2 medium potatoes diced
  • 1 chopped onion
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Mustard oil 1 tbsp and some more for drizzling
  • Few green chillies for garnish

How to make Chingri Maacher Bati Chorchori

  1. Heat mustard oil in a pan and smoke it. Then lower the flame and add the diced potatoes and onions together. Add salt , turmeric and red chilli powder.
  2. Saute it for a minute or two. Then cover and cook till the potatoes are 3/4 done.
  3. Now add the prawns and saute till they change colour. Add a cup of warm water to form the gravy. Let it cook for sometime. The potatoes should be fully cooked by now.
  4. Adjust the seasonings and serve with hot rice. Before serving drizzle some raw mustard oil on the prawns.

My Tip:

You can add chillies while cooking also but I personally just use it as a garnish.
