Rice Kheer

Ingredients to make Rice Kheer

  • Handful of basmati rice
  • 1 litre full cream milk
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Tejpatta 1
  • Cashew, raisins
  • 2 spoon ghee
  • Cardamom powder 1 tsp

How to make Rice Kheer

  1. Put cooker on stove.
  2. Add one tablespoon ghee then 1 tablespoon sugar.
  3. When sugar gets caramelized add rice, fry a bit.
  4. Then add 1 cup water and cover the lid.
  5. After 3 whistles switch off the gas.
  6. Add milk in the same pressure cooker.
  7. Keep stirring till you get a thicker consistency.
  8. It will take almost 40 minutes.
  9. Then add sugar, tejpatta, cardamom powder, fried kaju and raisins.
  10. Turn off the gas once the desired consistency is attained.
  11. Serve warm or refrigerate and serve cool.

My Tip:

You can add condensed milk to get a thicker consistency.
