Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Rice flour - 1 cup
  2. Moong daal - 1 & 1/2 tbsp
  3. Water - 1 cup
  4. Whole cumin seed - 1/2 tbsp
  5. Whole carom seed - 1 tsp (optional)
  6. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp (optional)
  8. Oil - 1 tbsp
  9. Salt - as per taste
  10. Oil - for frying

Instructions

  1. Soak the moong daal into water for about an hour.
  2. Drain the water from moong daal.
  3. In a wide pan let boil one cup of water.
  4. In the boiling water add salt, oil, moong daal.
  5. Add the rice flour.
  6. Quickly start stirring and turn off the heat.
  7. Mix well and cover with a lid.
  8. When it's bit cool down (you can handle) then add chilli powder, turmeric powder, carom seed, cumin seed. **check the salt, if required you can add.**
  9. Knead the dough to make it smooth.
  10. Apply little bit of oil in your palm and fingers.
  11. Take a little bit of dough and make a ball first.
  12. Then roll into like a thick rope.
  13. Join both side together to shape like a ring.
  14. Heat oil on high flame and drop the rings one by one into the hot oil.
  15. When the rings rise up to the surface let the heat down from high to medium.
  16. Cook until they turn into golden and crispy.
  17. Put it on kitchen towel paper to absorb extra oil.
  18. When it's cool down put them in an airtight container to stay fresh and crispy for long time.
