Dahi Vade

Ingredients to make Dahi Vade

  • urad dal 1 cup
  • curd 500 gram
  • Salt
  • rava 2 spoon
  • pudina chutney (handful pudina,coriander,green chilli,lemon,salt)
  • 1 tbsp raisins, cashew chopped
  • Chaat masala as per taste
  • lal mirch powder 1 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Roasted Cumin Powder 1 tsp
  • Oil for frying

How to make Dahi Vade

  1. First pick and rinse urad dal 3-4 times.
  2. Soak dal in enough water for 3-4 hour.
  3. Drain and add the dal in wet grinder.
  4. Take the batter in bowl and add suji.
  5. Stir the batter briskly for a couple of minutes.
  6. Add raisins and cashew along with salt.
  7. Stir and keep aside.
  8. Heat oil in kadai for deep frying.
  9. When the oil becomes medium hot fry the vada.
  10. When you see the vadas becoming golden form the base and sides you can turn them.
  11. Fry the vadas till they become golden and crisp.
  12. Drain on paper towels.
  13. In another bowl take water and add the vadas to the water.
  14. Soak them for 5 mins.
  15. Take each vada and flatten and press between your palms to remove excess water.
  16. Whisk curd till smooth.
  17. Add red chilli powder, chat masala, salt in curd. Stir well.
  18. Then pour the curd in vadas.
  19. Top with green chutney, sev and pomegranate, coriander leaves.
  20. Serve dahi vada immediately or refrigerate and serve later.

My Tip:

you can top the vada with tamarind chutney.
