Shark Fish Cutlet is a very tasty and healthy dish. I learnt making it from my paternal grandma.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Shark Fish -1/2 kg
  2. Turmeric powder -1 tsp+ 3/4 tsp
  3. Cooked Potato - 2 large (Peeled&mashed)
  4. Onion -1 finely chopped
  5. Green Chillies -3 finely chopped
  6. Ginger Garlic paste -1 Tsp
  7. Coriander leaves -2 tbsp (finely chopped)
  8. Red Chilli Powder -1 tsp
  9. Fennel seeds powder -3/4 tsp
  10. Jeera powder -1/2 tsp
  11. Egg -2
  12. Bread Crumbs -As needed
  13. Oil - For Shallow fry + 1 tbsp
  14. Salt-to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil 4 cups water in a vessel, add the 1 tsp turmeric powder. Add the cleaned and washed fish pieces. Close it with a lid and cook for 5 minutes, switch off the flame.
  2. Once it's lukewarm peel off the skin and remove the bones. Mash the fish with your hand without any lumps.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok, add the ginger garlic paste, fry it for 2-3 mins on a low flame. Add the chopped onion and green chillies for 5 mins.
  4. Now add the mashed potatoes, mashed fish, salt, 3/4 tsp turmeric powder, red chilli powder, fennel seed powder &jeera powder and fry till the moisture is gone. Beat the egg with little salt.
  5. Once the fish mixture is cooled down make an equal lemon size ball, flatten it to get a oval or circular shape with 1/4 inch thickness.
  6. Dip that flatten balls in beaten egg and then roll it in breadcrumbs. Heat Oil in a pan, shallow fry them on both sides until it turns golden brown.
