Ingredients to make Palak mushroom

  • For spinach puree-
  • palak 250 gms
  • Green chilli 2
  • garlic 3-4 cloves chopped
  • Half inch ginger chopped
  • Whole spices-
  • Half inch cinnamon
  • 2 green cardamom
  • 1 black cardamom
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Half tsp jeera
  • 4 cloves/laung
  • Other Ingredients-
  • mushroom 250 gms chopped
  • onion 1 medium sized chopped
  • tomato 1 medium sized chopped
  • garlic- 2 or 3 chopped
  • turmeric 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1/4 tsp
  • salt
  • Kasturi methi 1 tsp
  • oil
  • cream 2 tsp

How to make Palak mushroom

  1. Boil spinach in hot water for 3 4 mins and drain it in cold water. Put in a grinder all the ingredients under spinach puree and make a puree. Dont add water to it while grinding.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Put all whole spices, once aromatic add onions and saute.
  3. When onion is pink add ginger and garlic and fry. Followed by tomatoes. Fry till oil leaves the sides.
  4. Add mushrooms and fry. It shall leave water. Fry mushrooms till water evaporates.
  5. At this point add kasturi methi. Mix well. Now add all dry masalas. Stir well.
  6. Now add the puree followed by half cup water. Bring it to a boil. At this point add salt and cream. And mix cream gently.
  7. Serve hot with rotis and rice.
