Chana dal pakoda and pudina chutney

Ingredients to make Chana dal pakoda and pudina chutney

  • 1 cup chana dal/bengal gram.
  • 1/2 cup besan
  • 1 tbsp fennel seeds/saunf
  • 1 tbsp jeera.
  • 2-3 pod garlic chopped
  • 2 onion chopped.
  • 2 Green chilli, chopped
  • 1/2 inch ginger chopped
  • a pinch of hing
  • salt as per taste
  • oil for Deep frying
  • coriander leaves.
  • for pudina chutney-Take a bunch of pudina leaves,bunch of coriander leaves,lemon juice 1 tbsp,green chilli 1 and grind everything.

How to make Chana dal pakoda and pudina chutney

  1. pick and then rinse the dal for a couple of times in water.
  2. soak the chana dal in enough water for 3 to 4 hours or overnight.
  3. drain the soaked dal and add them to the grinder.
  4. add 1.5 to 2 tbsp chopped onion along with the chopped green chilies, ginger and garlic, asafoetida, fennel seeds, cumin seeds in the grinder.
  5. add 1.5 to 2 tbsp water and grind to a smooth batter.
  6. take the ground batter in a bowl. add 2 tbsp chopped onion and salt and besan.
  7. mix the batter very well.
  8. heat oil for deep frying in a pan or kadai. drop spoonfuls of the batter in medium hot oil.
  9. fry the chana dal pakoras till crisp and golden. drain the pakoras on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  10. serve chana dal pakoras hot or warm with green chutney.

My Tip:

you can serve with coconut chutney or tomato ketchup.
