Vermicilli Idli

Ingredients to make Vermicilli Idli

  • Rawa-1/2 cup
  • Vermicilli-1 cup
  • curd-1 cup
  • salt to taste -to taste
  • oil- for tempering and greasing
  • mustard seeds-1 tsp
  • curry leaves- dew
  • green chillies -2 slit
  • cashews-5-6 broken into pcs
  • Fruit salt / eno -1tbsp or a sachet

How to make Vermicilli Idli

  1. In a bowl add all dry ingredients except eno.
  2. Add water and make a batter, let it rest for 10 min .
  3. Meanwhile grease the idli vessel and prepare the steamer.
  4. In a pan heat oil for tempering add mustard seeds and a pinch of hing when it splutters, add chillies n curry leaves and cashewnut pour it in to the batter and mix well, when steamer is ready add eno to batter mix well and check consistency. Pour batter in the idli vessel and steam for 12-15mins or till done. Serve hot with coconut chutney and malgapodi.

My Tip:

You may use 1/4 of rawa n 1/4 of oats to make it healthier. You can also add vegetables like peas corn carrot etc according to your choice.
