Ingredients to make Eggless caramel custard

  • 3/4 cup- milk
  • 3/4 cup- curd
  • 3/4 cup - Condensed milk
  • 1/4 tsp - Vanilla extract
  • 2 tbspn- cornflour
  • 1 tbspn - water
  • 1/4 cup- sugar

How to make Eggless caramel custard

  1. Put water and sugar in to a sauce pan, mix well.
  2. Bring it to boil
  3. Continue to cook over low heat until syrup gets deep amber color.
  4. Once the caramel is ready, immediately pour that in to a tin.
  5. Now to make custard mixture, put milk, yogurt and condensed milk in to a bowl.
  6. To that add vanilla, corn flour and mix well.
  7. Pour the custard mixture over set caramel tin.
  8. Put about an inch water in to idly cooker and heat that up over medium heat.
  9. Once the water is hot, put the custard pan in idly cooker. Close the lid.
  10. And steam over medium heat for 30 to 35 mts or until toothpick inserted in the middle of custard comes out clear.
  11. Serve warm or cold.

My Tip:

Not to over cool caramel , otherwise it will get burnt or taste bitter Make sure curd is at toom temperature.

I tried today the same .but in a cooker .& not successful :sleepy: 1) Caramel s totally stucked in the bowl ( i used steal bowl) 2). My condensed milk s not took thick & i used custard powder
