A traditional recipe handed over by my great grand mother to grand mother to my mother and to me....
Urad dal, rice, pepper ,wash and soak in water for 3 hours .
Drain it and grind it in a grinder using very little water to get smooth batter .
Mix salt to taste.
Heat oil in a kadai.
Take some oil in palm, take small portions of the batter in hand ,flatten it little bit and with a small hole in the center .
Fry it in oil till golden brown .
Then keep aside alow it to cool down.
Then cut it in to 5/6 slices .
Take half cup of water in a kadai and heat it add jaggery and keep stirring constantly till is mixes properly.
Now add bada strips/slices with ghee and keep cooking for 10 minutes non stop under slow flame till it turns sticky.
Decorate with fresh tulsi leaves.
Serve with cold or hot.
