Ingredients to make Gulgule and Gur ke Poode

  • water -3 cup
  • jaggery (gur) - 1 and 1/2 cup
  • wheat flour as needed. Approx 2 cups
  • fennel seeds - 1 tbsp
  • oil to fry

How to make Gulgule and Gur ke Poode

  1. GULGULE ---In a pan add water and keep it on a medium flame.
  2. Add jaggery and let it dissolve completely. Sieve it once and let it cool for half an hour.
  3. Now add wheat flour little by little along with fennel seeds so that no lumps are formed and till you get the pakoda like consistency.
  4. It will take approx 2 and 1/2cups.
  5. Let it rest for atleast an hour.
  6. Now heat the oil to fry the gulgule like pakodas until dark brown. Gulgules are ready.
  7. GUR KE POODE ---- With the same measurements of the batter add just half cup of water and whisk well.
  8. Now heat a tawa on full flame.
  9. Put oil on the tawa. Grease the whole tawa.
  10. Put some batter and make the poodas like omelette.
  11. Let it cook for few minutes on each side.
  12. The delicious poodas are ready to be relished with kheer.

My Tip:

Add jaggery less or more according to taste.
