Easy Kaara Kozhukatai

Ingredients to make Easy Kaara Kozhukatai

  • Rice flour 250 gms
  • Big onion 2
  • green chillies 2
  • red chilly 1
  • mustard seed 1 tablespoon
  • Channa dhal 1 tablespoon
  • Urud dhal 1 tablespoon
  • curry leaves and coriander leaves if needed
  • salt
  • coconut 1/2
  • carrot 1 or 2

How to make Easy Kaara Kozhukatai

  1. Finely chop Onion, green chillies, curry leaves, carrot, coconut.
  2. Mix rice flour with water and add salt. Mix nicely until you get a dough.
  3. Heat oil and add mustard seeds, urad dal, channa dal. Roast it until nice aroma comes out. Then add red chilly, onion, green chilly, curry leaves, coriander leaves and carrot.
  4. Fry until it turns golden brown. Then add coconut. It will add crunchyness to the Kozhukatai.
  5. Then add rice mixture. Mix well in the medium flame.
  6. Check the salt and spicy. Add more if required.
  7. Make Kozhukatai shapes with this dough. You can make small balls also
  8. Steam it in the idli vessel for 10 to 15 mins.
