Ingredients to make Viral meen varuval / butter fish fry

  • 1/ 2 kg butter fish cleaned and sliced
  • oil for shallow fry
  • For Marination-
  • 1 tsp chilli Powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • Small piece ginger
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • salt to taste

How to make Viral meen varuval / butter fish fry

  1. Grind all the ingredients given under Marination to a smooth paste.
  2. Apply the ground masala paste to all the fish pieces, nicely coat and let it marinate for at least an hour.
  3. Heat a pan, pour little oil and shallow fry the pieces both the sides till it turns golden colour
  4. Remove it on tissue paper and serve hot with onion rings and lemon.
