Green Dhokla (Hara Bhara Dhokla)

Ingredients to make Green Dhokla (Hara Bhara Dhokla)

  • 1 Cup chick pea flour ( besan)
  • 1 Cup spinach ( palak)
  • 1 Cup fenugreek leaves ( methi)
  • 1/2 Cup green peas
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 2 Tablespoon coriander leaves
  • 1 Tablespoon ginger garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon fruit salt
  • Water to make a smooth paste
  • For Garnishing :
  • 1 Tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 Teaspoon mustard seeds
  • Few curry leaves
  • 2 Tablespoon peanuts
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 1 Tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Pinch of hing (asafoetida)

How to make Green Dhokla (Hara Bhara Dhokla)

  1. In a pan boil water, add green peas, fenugreek leaves and spinach to this. Cook for 5 minutes. Now transfer this into a strainer and run under cold water
  2. Now take a mixer add blanched green peas, fenugreek leaves, spinach, green chillies, coriander leaves, ginger garlic and 1 teaspoon of salt and blend this mix.
  3. Add water to this mixture and make a smooth paste
  4. Now add fruit salt to this smooth mixture and gently mix it again
  5. Take Dhokla plates, grease with cooking oil. Pour the mixture into the greased plates. Steam the Dhokla mixture for 7 to 10 min.
  6. Remove the Dhoklas from heat, demould the Dhokla & cut into diamond shapes.
  7. Now prepare tempering for the Dhoklas in a pan, heat oil add mustard seed, pinch of asafoetida, now add curry leaves, green chillies, peanuts and sesame seeds.
  8. Enjoy a healthy and green treat .......

Add the green mixture to besan and then add fruit salt???
