ABOUT Chiratta Puttu RECIPE

Inspired from my wife Razia, this dish tastes good and is different from the conventional traditional breakfast of Kerala - Puttu

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rice flour/puttu flour- 2 cups
  2. Grated coconut- as required
  3. Water - 1 cup
  4. Salt - required amount
  5. Chiratta puttu maker - 1

Instructions

  1. Take 2 cups of rice flour in a bowl.
  2. Add salt & water and mix well with your finger tips.
  3. Layer the puttu maker first with grated coconut, then add puttu flour.Then again add grated coconut followed by puttu flour.
  4. Repeat the same process till the puttu kutty is full.Add grated coconut on the top again.
  5. Pour little water into a pressure cooker and steam till done.
