Ingredients to make Varagu Arisi/Kodo millet mirsange cheese balls

  • Varagarisi / kodo millet - ½ cup
  • Raw rice - 1 cup
  • urad dal - ¾ cup
  • Finely chopped capsicum - 1 no
  • Finely chopped curry leaves - 2 tbsps
  • Finely chopped green chillies - 2 nos
  • Grated ginger - 1 tsp
  • Melted ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Coarsely crushed cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Coarsely crushed pepper - 1 tsp
  • Grated Processed cheese - 200 grams
  • salt - to taste
  • oil - for deep frying cheese balls

How to make Varagu Arisi/Kodo millet mirsange cheese balls

  1. Soak raw rice, varagu rice / kodo millet and urad dhal for two hours, and grind to smooth paste.
  2. Add other ingredients to the batter and mix well
  3. Heat oil in a pan and make round balls from the batter and deep fry it till golden colour.
  4. Yummy cheese varagarisi mirsange balls are ready to serve
  5. Serve hot with tomato sauce or any chutneys.
