Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 cup Chana dal
  2. 1/2 cup Arhar dal
  3. 1/2 cup Urad dal (white)
  4. 2 cup grated cheese
  5. 1/2 cup chopped onions
  6. 1/2 cup chopped coriander
  7. 3-4 green chilly chopped
  8. Salt to taste
  9. A sachet blue eno
  10. Oil 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Soak all three dals for around half and hour in four cups of water. Grind them in a mixi using a little water.
  2. Remove it in a bowl, add chopped onion and salt to taste and mix well. If the Consistency is too thick add little water to make just the medium consistency (same consistency as for uttapam).
  3. Add eno and mix well, the batter will rise and become fluffy.
  4. Heat a tawa, add one tsp oil and place a ladleful of batter and spread it like uttapam (not too thick nor too thin).
  5. Allow it to cook. Add chilli flakes, corainder leaves and green chilli evenly on top of the chilla. Spread a tsp of oil all over.
  6. Turn on the other side and cook for a minute. Again flip to the side where the coriander leaves and green chilly is added. Now on one half spread grated cheese and fold with other side over the cheese side to form a folded chilla.
  7. Remove it in a plate and cut into two in the center. Serve hot with chutney and tomato sauce.
