Ingredients to make Mumbai style veg grilled cheese sandwich

  • 3 slices of Brown bread
  • 1 (or more) slice of cheese
  • butter enough to spread on 3 slices of bread both sides
  • Green coriander and mint chutney
  • cucumber slices round
  • tomato slices round
  • Boiled potato slices round
  • onion slices round
  • Black pepper powder
  • Chat masala
  • salt as per taste

How to make Mumbai style veg grilled cheese sandwich

  1. Take a slice of bread and apply thin layer of butter on one side of bread, and then spread the green chutney on top of butter
  2. Put slices of cucumber and then onions, sprinkle some salt, black pepper and chat masala
  3. Now take another slice of bread and put it over first one, apply butter on both sides, spread some green chutney over the layer of butter
  4. Put slices of tomato and boiled potato on it and season with salt, black pepper and chat masala. Take cheese slice and put on top, now take the last piece of bread apply butter and put over the sandwich press a little bit
  5. Apply a thin layer of butter on the outside of sandwich before putting inside the grill. Preheat the Grill for at least 5 minutes, Place the sandwich on the grill, close lid, and check after about 3 minutes
  6. Sandwich is done when the bread is a beautiful golden brown and the cheese is melting. Enjoy!

My Tip:

When sandwich is ready at the time of serving you can put more green chutney and grated cheese over it to give a cheese burst. Accompany with tomato sauce (and crispy chickpea sev if you like).
