Cheesy Italian Herbed Bread

Ingredients to make Cheesy Italian Herbed Bread

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup active yeast
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1 tbsp mixed herbs chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • butter to brush on top

How to make Cheesy Italian Herbed Bread

  1. Take 2 cups flour (maida), 1/2 cup active yeast (lukewarm water 1/2 cup, 1 spoon dry yeast, 1 tsp sugar), 1 tbsp oil and 1 tsp salt.
  2. Mix all the ingredients into a loose dough. Cover and proof for two hours.
  3. After 2 hours knead again. Spread this onto a pre-greased dish.
  4. Liberally spread grated cheese or cheesespread over it. Sprinkle mixed Italian herbs, chilli flakes and black pepper powder.
  5. Roll it. Make cuts on top. Keep again for 2nd proofing - 45 minutes.
  6. Brush top of roll with butter. In a pre-heated oven, bake at 220 degrees for 35 minutes or till golden on top.
  7. Again brush with a little butter, cut into slices and enjoy with tea or just by itself.
