Onion Cheese Balls

Ingredients to make Onion Cheese Balls

  • all purpose flour (maida) 1 cup
  • Dry yeast 1 tbsp
  • sugar 1 tsp
  • salt 1/2 tsp
  • 1/4 cup Milk + 1/2 cup Milk
  • olive oil 1 tsp + 1 tbsp
  • For filling:
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • Grated cheese 1/2 cup
  • Black pepper powder for seasoning
  • butter 1 tbsp

How to make Onion Cheese Balls

  1. Mix the yeast and sugar with 1/4 cup of lukewarm milk. Keep aside for 2 minutes.
  2. Take a bowl. Add maida, salt, oil and the dissolved yeast mixture. Mix all and then by adding the milk make a soft dough.
  3. Cover the dough and keep it for a minimum of 2 hours to rise.
  4. Prepare the filling:
  5. Heat a pan, add butter and heat it. Add onions and cook till the onions turn pink.
  6. Add pepper powder. Turn of the flame and mix cheese into it. I am not adding salt as the processed cheese already is salty and also there is salt in the dough.
  7. After 2 hours take a ball size dough. Make a well in the centre. Fill it with the onion cheese mix. Again form the ball, brush with olive oil over the balls.
  8. Bake it at 200 degree centigrade, preheated oven for 25 minutes at the same temperature.

My Tip:

Milk should be lukewarm both for the yeast and the dough.
